uniqueness

It has always helped me to know my limits and honor them. I am not like anyone else in the entire world, so I cannot live like anyone else.

If I try to push myself into being someone I’m not, it crashes back at me.
If I try to push myself into doing something that isn’t me, it is extremely uncomfortable.
And it’s even worse if I ignore that discomfort and try to fit into a mold.
I’m willing to explore, to test my limits, to try out any and every new situation.
But I also know when I have to slow down and take stock.

I am a big risk taker and risks have been good to me, but I don’t do them carelessly. Like the interview I saw on Steve Jobs in 60 minutes earlier this week, I try to rely on my intuition. This helps me know if something is a big YES (feels good) or a big NO (feels awful).

Life itself should feel like a big YES and if it doesn’t I’m willing to do something different.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
~Steve Jobs

Blue

This shade of blue is mesmerizing.

We are the instruments
through which the force of life expresses itself.
We express our art in everything we say,
everything we feel,
and everything we do.

The creation is ongoing,
it is endless,
it is happening in every moment.

Oneness

Amid all the mysteries by which we are surrendered, nothing is more certain than that we are ever in the presence of an Infinite and Eternal Energy from which all things proceed.

16 Thank you’s

When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.
~Willie Nelson

I am so thankful that I am getting to live at home right now.
I am so thankful that the Utah sky is so blue and from the rain everything is green.
I am thankful to be 33 years old and healthy.
I am thankful for the lack of drama in my life.

I am thankful that I have support around me even when I am in a cocoon.

I am thankful for my blonde hair.
I am thankful that I can get in my car and drive anywhere I want.
I am thankful that I do not have any children.
I am thankful for all the places I’ve lived and the slew of experiences in each one – Portland, Boise, and San Diego.
I am thankful that I have a lovely home base in Utah.
I am thankful that I have such a great and young mom.
I am thankful that I have money in the bank.
I am thankful for my many friends.

I am thankful that the world we live in is so beautiful.

I am thankful for the simple pleasures of life – writing, eating tomato soup for lunch, sipping a latte near a sunny window.
I am thankful for the people around me, even the ones I don’t talk to who just make up my atmosphere.

You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life.

And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.
~Sarah Ban Breathnach
